Richard “Rick” Ashley
Founder & CEO, Rainforest Pools –N– Composites LLC
Richard “Rick” Ashley is a seasoned entrepreneur and visionary in the fiberglass pool industry. As the founder, CEO, and managing partner of Rainforest Pools –N– Composites LLC, he has transformed the company into a nationally recognized brand known for innovative, high-quality fiberglass pool solutions.
Rick’s journey into fiberglass and composites began before he even graduated high school in 1985. Growing up he spent his evenings and weekends at the local Chevrolet dealership, carefully handcrafting fiberglass parts for vintage automobiles. This early, hands-on experience sparked a lifelong passion for craftsmanship and design.
After high school, Rick entered the marine industry, where he honed his skills in all aspects of fiberglass production—from mold creation and lamination to product development and finishing. Over the next decades, he became a true master of the craft, building a deep technical knowledge that would become the foundation of his future success.
As Rick’s expertise grew, so did his leadership ambitions. He expanded into business operations, earning certifications in Six Sigma and lean manufacturing, and learning directly from industry leaders. These experiences shaped his holistic approach to quality, innovation, and efficiency—principles that are now embedded in every pool Rainforest Pools manufactures.
Under Rick’s leadership, Rainforest Pools has cultivated a nationwide network of dealers and installers, helping homeowners across the country transform their backyards with elegant, durable, and environmentally friendly fiberglass pools. He remains closely involved in the industry, crafting new designs staying ahead of emerging trends as seen in his latest design, the Colombian Resort which incorporates a raised spillover spa and ledge into the pool.
